Arlingclose’s Dorset housing event promotes custom build in the South West, 10 November

Independent Treasury Advisory company Arlingclose has limited availability on its free half-day housing event in Dorset for local authorities and other stakeholders working to bring on custom homes in the South West.

At the event, local government officials and housing professionals can get an insight into the regional situation for custom and self build together with case studies, in addition to the national context of custom and self build.

Of particular relevance for local authorities, two of the presentations look as setting up a housing company to bring on homes and an open-market approach to shared ownership.

The agenda:

  • Chairman’s Welcome and Introductions
  • Is a Housing Company Appropriate? (Mark Swallow, Arlingclose)
  • Custom and Self-build Legislation Overview (Speaker to be confirmed)
  • The Custom and Self Build Experience (Liz Dunster, Plymouth City Council)
  • Development Case Study, Direct Delivery of Affordable and Market Housing on Small Sites (Cecilie Booth, Arlingclose)
  • Starter Homes / Modular Build / Off-site Construction (Raoul Voeten, Cubicco)
  • Landbay Local – Peer-to-peer Mortgage Lending (Julian Cork, Landbay)
  • Open Market Shared Ownership – a new approach to address local housing needs (Cecilie Booth, Arlingclose)
  • Summary and Close

Hosted by West Dorset District Council, the event runs from 11.30 on 10 November, 2017 at South Walks Road, Dorchester, DT1 1EE. To reserve a place contact Cecilie Booth on cbooth@arlingclose.com
