Community-led housing is raising the bar for housing in the UK, and the National Community-led Housing Conference is the first event of its kind to focus on sharing experiences and methodology. The one-day conference is jointly hosted by UKCohousing and the National CLT Network, with support from the Ecology Building Society.
Taking place at Congress Centre, London, on the 27 November 2017, the event will share best practice across the spectrum of cohousing groups and Community Land Trusts.
Like custom build housing, this innovative approach is evolving new methods for bringing on housing, with affordability and community-engagement at its core. And more and more groups are cropping up across the nation as interest grows in communities having more of a say in their local areas, such as Marmalade Lane, Cambridge, pictured with TOWN at their cutting ground ceremony recently.
The £300m Community Housing Fund announced by Government last year represents a huge opportunity to scale up cohousing and take it mainstream across the UK, and the day offers a signpost for the future.
The programme of events offers debates and training sessions to help shape the future of this burgeoning sector, and is open to members and business.
There is a range of ticket prices, from £50-£200, reflecting whether attendees are cohousing members or not. Tickets are available online, or click here for a list of the sessions on offer on the day.
